SOLID-BRASS SHIP'S WHEEL

This wheel probably came off a lobster boat (due to the poor “as found condition”). The brass was cleaned, polished and sealed with a clear brass lacquer. The wood (probably walnut) was stripped and refinished with three coats of hand-rubbed spar varnish. A new mahogany mounting board was added. A nice décor item.

Size: Wheel spoke to spoke 15”; Base: 9” long by 4 ½” high and the shank is about 4’ in diameter and 4 inches high.
